22. januar at 01.45  25 years ago – for me a remarkable point in time – being a heavy smoker for years I suddenly stopped smoking.

Still, after 25 years I am a non-smoker unlike this Serbian man from Western Bosnia…

Celebrated the first day in 2010 with a long walk along the West coast of Jylland.

Enjoyed the light and the clean fresh air. Not a bad start…

A good new year's resolution should be a monthly walk along this coast. A little difficult though as every other resolution.

It is very rare – only a few days a year and only approx. 15 minutes – that the sun sets over Copenhagen like that. Until they build the Aller-house it was very likely to see the sun set almost in the horizon. How many capitals can beat that?

During those special 15 minutes the Knippelsbro Bridge is crowded with lightstalkers; with his Hasselblad and 500 mm tele lens on a tripod my friend Jens happens to be one of them. My pixtures of the scene are here on the site – have a look at his in the days to come. He uses analogue technique and might be able to present his results during tomorrow. I use a small digital LX3 and can post now. His images though are likely to be of a higher and more spectacular quality. Check out his site at j-fr.dk…

While listening to a litterature programme on the radio I walked around one of my favorite motives in Copenhagen trying to mix the view with what I heard.

It seems to be the setting for a Copenhagen Noir story – a cold, windy and godforsaken place in the outskirts of the city. Three hours later the police are called to the scene only to find [hmmm to be continued....]

Somewhere in Brønshøj, I found this signboard reading "Santa Claus only" in official Danish Signboard typography.

This morning, somewhere here in Brønshøj I found those two former beauties in the frontyard of a house that apparently needed as much maintenance as the cars.

November is the first real dark month here – but as we sit in the darkness, we focus on the light…
