Hovering over Berlin

kirsten_berlin_0078.jpgWe decided to take a few days off and took a bus to Berlin to look for inspiration and to spend some time together. Having no actual plan in minds, we however ended up with a list of 15 accomplished tasks – museums, shops, galleries etc.

But we also had time to relax at Unter den Linden…

udstilling_berlin_0094.jpgPhotography became one of the themes of this trip. The picture on the post is from an Irving Penn exhibition at the Camera Work gallery, Kant Str 149. See more at Kirsten’s blog

quasimodo_0325.jpgBut jazz also played a significant role. Wednesday we spent a nice evening at Quasimodo – equivalent to Montmartre, Copenhagen in the old days or Village Vanguard in New York.

Niels Wülker (tr+fgh) with friends played while Norddeutscher Rundfunk (and I) recorded the session. Dietmar Fuhr was on double bass – playing with a terrific authority.
