In the misty morning they gather around a makeshift fire to keep the cold at bay while waiting for the go-signal from the supervisor.
Later they go to their lane in the minefield, slowly proceeding ahead in deep concentration.
During breaks they chat and smoke. But at entering the minefield all discussion and arguments on politics and religion must be left out, a section leader underlines.
If you loose concentration, you may miss the landmine in front of you - and later step on it yourself.
